History

Year 1953Seiwa Girls High School was established.  ‐Year 1960 Beginning of the Long-Term Study-Abroad in Australia Program  ‐Year 1970 Beginning of accepting students from Australia

 

Year 1983Japan-Australia Society(JAS) of Sasebo was established  ‐Founding President , Mr. Zenzaburo Tanakamaru  Reception celebrating the establishment of JAS with invited guest, Sir Neil Currie, Australian Ambassador to Japan  The First Annual Meeting and Reception

 

Year 1984The 6th Visit of Seiwa Singers to Australia  Visit from HMAS Canberra to Sasebo  The 2nd Annual Meeting and Reception

 

Year 1985The 3rd Annual Meeting and Reception  Visit from Prof. Short, who contributed to the establishment of the exchange-student program between Japan and Australia

 

Year 1986The 7th Visit of Seiwa Singers to Australia  Sponsored The Australia Ensemble Concert  The 4th Annual Meeting and Reception

 

Year 1987The 5th Annual Meeting and Reception  Special Lecture from Mr. Gilbert, Director of Australia-Japan Foundation of Tokyo

 

Year 1988Signing Affiliation for Sister City Relations with Coffs Harbour on June, 6  Reception celebrating a Sister City affiliation with Mr.Barnard Malouf, Mayor Coffs Harbour and his delegation.  The 6th Annual Meeting and Reception Mr. Masao Oshima inaugurated as the 2nd President.
